WordPress Website and WebAR Showcase for a Dutch 3D & AR Plant Visualization Startup
Built the official website for Green View, a Netherlands-based startup on a mission to revolutionize the green sector with the power of 3D. The site presents the founders' offering custom 3D photography and Augmented Reality experiences for plants and flowers and lets visitors launch interactive WebAR demos of real specimens (e.g. Ficus Benjamina Daniella, Coprosma Eclipse) directly from the browser via QR codes. Implemented on *WordPress* with a clean, nature-led design and embedded *WebAR / 3D model viewers* so growers and retailers can place true-to-scale plants in their own space.
The core challenge was presenting a highly technical, novel service AR and 3D plant visualization to a traditional horticultural audience in a way that felt approachable and credible. The site needed to load heavy 3D assets without hurting performance, trigger install-free AR across iOS and Android, and communicate the value proposition clearly in Dutch, all while remaining easy for the small founding team to update.
Developed a lightweight custom WordPress theme and integrated *WebAR using model-viewer* with *glTF/GLB* models for Android and *USDZ* for iOS Quick Look, so AR launches with no app install. 3D assets were lazy-loaded and compressed to protect Core Web Vitals, and QR codes were wired to per-plant AR scenes. The plant collection and team sections were structured with Custom Post Types so Green View can add new specimens and demos themselves.
